The Tour

We take great pride in giving a personal, informative tour. Groups of more than 15 are divided into smaller groups to allow entrance into the smaller rooms of the mansion and allow for more personal interaction with the tour guide. All groups tour at the same time and conclude at approximately the same time. Tours generally take about one hour. Please allow additional time for loading, unloading, restrooms, and, of course, our gift shop.

If your group is more than 65, we offer an open house tour, starting with a personal 20-minute orientation history of the mansion with the entire group in the Grand Salon. Afterward, guests are welcome to see the mansion at their leisure. Tour guides are posted throughout the mansion to answer questions. This allows guests to break up and spend time according to their own interests. It also allows us to tour large groups in a relatively short amount of time - 1 ˝ hours, rather than touring a portion of your group while the remainder wait for "the next tour." We can tour up to 200 in this manner.

Curator's Tour

The history of Belmont Mansion and Adelicia Acklen is a lengthy, full, colorful story. It's just impossible to tell it all in the regular 45-minute tour. But if you have the time, we're happy to share the more in-depth story. This is the tour for anyone deeply interested in Victorian art and antiques or the Southern woman in the Civil War. However, you don't have to be a history buff to fall in love with this story. If ever there was a tour for which you should allow more time, this is it. Cost: $10 per person. Approximately 1 ˝ hour tour. Please allow additional time for loading, unloading, etc.
