The use of colored glassware becomes popular in America during the first half of the nineteenth century.  From the four known glasses it is unknown how many different colors would have been in this set.  Four colors were often found in sets.  This shallow bowl form known as a coupe or saucer shape waxed and waned in usage till the second quarter of the twentieth century.  This form is not found in American made glass till the fourth quarter of the nineteenth century and did not come into wide spread popularity until the 1930.
