Adelicia Cheatham (Cabinet Card)
This cabinet card of Adelicia Hayes Franklin Acklen Cheatham is by Rodney Poole who worked in Nashville from 1871until 1895. Judging from Adelicia's hairstyle and clothing choice, this photograph most likely dates from the mid-1870s to the time Adelicia left Nashville in December 1884. Adelicia died in 1887 and therefore this is the last known photograph of Adelicia.
Cabinet cards were introduced in 1860 and had widespread use in the 1870s. They were at the height of their popularity in the 1880s and continued to be until the 1930s.
