Step into Nashville's Past

Belmont Mansion is the largest house built in Nashville, Tennessee, prior to the Civil War. Constructed between 1850 and 1860 by the Acklen family, the mansion is one of the few homes from this period still standing in the city today.

Belmont Mansion is one of Nashville’s most significant historic attractions. A visit offers the opportunity to explore 19th-century Nashville through the history of this place and the lives of the people who shaped it, including both free and enslaved individuals whose experiences are essential to understanding the site.

“"If you're wondering if Belmont Mansion is worth visiting when coming to Nashville, do it! It's total worth it. The tour guide we had was extremely knowledgeable. It's really neat learning about the Mansion's history and seeing how they used to live back in the day.".”

“This was a staycation visit that offered a chance to learn some history of this beautiful mansion in my own city. Our guide was very thorough with great stories and able to answer the various questions posed to her. Belmont Mansion has a rich history that varies from some plantations in the area. A worth-while visit!”
