We offer age appropriate tours of the mansion for students K-12th grade, which include information on all the people who lived and worked on the estate (black and white), slavery, and the Civil War. Tours are available Monday through Saturday between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM. If these hours will not work with your schedule contact us and we will find a way to accommodate your group.
Please be aware that we require one adult chaperone for ten students. Tours cost $5 per student and chaperone. Teacher(s) and bus driver(s) are free.
Can’t come for a tour? Belmont Mansion can come to you! We currently offer one Traveling Classroom program called History Investigators to help bring history to life at your school. If you are interested in a topic or activity not currently offered let us know and we can tailor our program to your needs.
Each program costs $2.50 per student. Schools outside of a thirty mile radius will be charged an additional mileage fee of $.50 per mile.
Teacher Lesson Plans and lists of local history resources -- it's all right here and provided for free. These resources, created by teachers for teachers, are available for classroom teachers, home-school programs and anyone wanting a little assistance in creating educational content that's dynamic and relevant.
